Mark your calendars - the 2017 C3 Conference is set for May 26-28 in Toronto. This immediately precedes the 2017 CSC conference also in Toronto that begins on Sunday May 28.
Thanks to everyone for attending and to the conference organizers for an excellent event. The Host College Student Award and General Student Award were presented at the conference. Lauren Iverson and Amanda Barbosa, both from Sask Poly, were the recipients. In addition, the C3 Award in Chemical Education for 2016 was presented to Kathryn Darvesh. Congratulations to all our award winners.

The Host College Student Awards were presented at the 42nd conference in Halifax. Paige Baker (Mount Saint Vincent), Chris Abraham (Dalhousie), and Kaitlyn Blatt-Janmaat (Saint Mary's) were the recipients.

The C3 Student Awards were presented at the 41th conference in Vancouver. Anis Fahandej-Sadi from UBC-Okanagan was awarded the General Student Scholarship and the Host Scholarship was awarded to Eric Venalainen from BCIT.

This years's general student scholarship has been awarded to Celine Allen of QUEST University. This year two host institution scholarships have been awraded. The recipients are Molly Noseworthy from Grenfell Campus, Memorial University and Stephanie Sooley from the College of the North Atlantic.

There were three new members elected to the C3 Executive Board at the 2011 AGM: Sudhir Abhyankar (President - Elect), Anka Lekhi (BC/Yukon Director), and Christopher Lovallo (Conference Coordinator, 2012). Contact info can be found on the Executive page.

This year's conference at Dawson College, Montreal QC, was a huge success. Brian Seivewright and his committee did a wonderful job of organizing talks and food. Congratulations to all who made this a successful meeting.

The 39th annual conference will be held 2012 at Mount Royal College in Calgary, AB.
The executive approved using PAYPAL as an optional method for paying for your conference registration and membership renewal. With PAYPAL you can use your existing account or a credit card. Alternately, we are still accepting personal cheques as payment. Let us know what you think of this new option.
Brian Seivewright (Dawson College) has accepted the position of Regional Director for Quebec along with his position as conference coordinator for the 2011 conference. Thanks Brian for filling this important role.
The C3 executive voted during the October Executive Meeting to increase the award value of the two Student Awards from $400 to $800. The two awards, the "C3 Host College Student Scholarship" and the "C3 General Student Scholarship", are intended to help a student pursue studies at a Canadian College or University (or other post-secondary educational institution) in science, and to raise the profile of College Chemistry Canada. More information and nomination procedures can be found on the Awards page.
