The 37th Conference was held at Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops BC, on May 13-15, 2010. Bruno Cinel and his committe did a wonderful job of organizing talks, food, and entertainment. Congratulations to all who made this a successful meeting.

The Changing of the Guard at C3
After many years serving on the Executive and Board of C3, the "Two Bobs" have been put out to pasture. Bob Perkins held every executive position except Web Editor in his 25 years and was Treasurer until the recent Annual General Meeting in Kamloops. He will be replaced by Brenda Addison-Jones (Douglas College). Bob Browne is a charter member of C3 and has held every position except Treasurer since the first meeting of C3 in 1977. He has been a member of the Board continuously since 1988, when he took over the position of Editor. Jim Bailey (UBC Okanagan) will replace Bob as Web Editor, a position which Bob has held since 1996 (but was only made an executive position in 2004).
Jimmy Lowe (BCIT) will serve as interim Secretary after Genevieve Dufresne-Martin was forced to relinquish the job half way through her two-year term. After coordinating a very successful conference, Bruno Cinel will be back on the Board as the BC Regional Director. C3 is still looking for a Regional Director for Quebec.
For the next two years, the office of President will be held by Marten Lettinga (TRU) who takes over from outgoing President Lawton Shaw. To view all C3 Executive and Board members, or to contact any of them, please go to the Executive page.
The 38th Conference to be held at Dawson College
The 2011 Conference will be held at Dawson College, Montreal, from June 1-3. The conference theme is "Teaching Chemistry in the Information Age". The location, and dates, will allow members to attend both the C3 and CSC meetings since the latter will be held in Montreal beginning on June 5. If you intend to go to both conferences, be sure to become an Affiliate Member of the CSC since this will allow you to register at a special rate.
Minutes of the 2009 AGM and Monthly Conference Call Meetings
The Executive of C3 "meets" once a month via telephone conference calls. In addition to discussing the weather across the country, the members review plans for the upcoming conferences, accept reports from executive members, and generally conduct the busness of C3. The minutes of these calls are posted on the "Executive" page of this site.
